An original poem and the companion painting follow this article.
Jesus' blood is the distillation of His victory over the powers ruling over this Earth. That victory, two thousand years ago, was set in motion on Calvary's cross but sealed two days later through His resurrection. Jesus, as the second Adam, reversed the curse brought into the world by the first Adam.

His blood has relevance today over our lives. There are various ministries of the blood: Sprinkling, Pleading, and Communion. Each differ slightly from the others in purpose and application.
The Sprinkling
Sprinkling, as evidenced in Hebrews 10:19-22, is for entering into the presence of God. It is reminiscent of the High Priest sprinkling blood over the people in the Old Testament, as it is the New Testament "revealed" from what the Old Testament "concealed". Sprinkling the blood of Jesus (over the heart) is to be followed by washing with pure water (over our bodies, pure water indicates the word of God).
19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

One drop of precious Holy blood
Is all I need.
Over any charge, trial or trib',
It's what I plead.
Of all the helps Holy Blood can give
It points to the life that one should live.
From love's passion, our Savior poured out.
He laid my path, His way, the route.
Old sin, new sin, future sin erased,
No, not a drop was given in waste.
Access to the Father, an onramp to heaven -
Not just for me, but for all my brethren.
The sacrifice was made, then Abba smiled,
A Fatherly embrace is now for every child.
